A new athletic and academic center has opened in Uxbridge in honor of Grace Rett, the Holy Cross rower who was killed in a 2020 crash while training with her team in Florida.

The new G.R.A.C.E. Center opened at Rett’s elementary school, Our Lady of the Valley Regional School, according to Boston 25 News.

“You mentally feel Grace everywhere in here, whether it’s the academic spaces, all the nods to her athletic career, or just God being present here throughout the quotes on the wall and everything you can feel her,” Brianne Rett, Grace’s sister, told the news station.

Inside the center is a gym, and many dedications to Grace, including photos and a mural. The center was built using donations, according to Boston 25 News.

“The community spread and people have reached out across the entire country, it’s amazing,” Mary Joe Rett, Grace’s mother, told the news station.
