A Millbury man’s favorite number helped him become a millionaire on a scratch-off ticket.
Robert Babbidge became Massachusetts’ first grand prize winner of the state lottery’s “$4,000,000 Brilliant Titanium” scratch ticket game, Masslive reported.
Babbidge nabbed the grand prize recently thanks to his favorite number – nine – when he chose bin No. 9 when buying the ticket at JT’s Corner Store in Millbury.
According to the state lottery’s website, Babbidge chose the cash option for his prize and got a one-time payment of $2.6 million before taxes.
JT’s Corner Store will get a $40,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
