Loose horse gallops down Route 140 in Taunton

What was seen running down Route 140 southbound in Taunton Tuesday? A horse, of course.

The state Department of Transportation reported a loose horse on the roadway near exit 19 just after 11:30 a.m. Traffic wasn’t impacted, officials said.

A video shared on Twitter showed the wayward animal galloping down the roadway. The horse appeared to stay in its lane, and was moving with the flow of traffic.

As of 11:45 a.m., the horse was safely back in a trailer, according to MassDOT.
