First responders find man dead at Wareham motel

Police identified the man as 31-year-old Edward A. Purdy, who was living at the motel.

First responders found a man dead inside a Wareham motel room Wednesday morning, according to a statement from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. 

Police identified the man as 31-year-old Edward A. Purdy, who was living at the motel.

Wareham Police received a 911 call Wednesday at 8:05 a.m. reporting that someone performing a wellness check found a man unresponsive in Room 7 at the Village Motel on Cranberry Highway in Wareham, according to the statement. 

Upon arrival, first responders found the man and pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the statement.

Detectives from the Massachusetts State Police are investigating the case. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death, according to the statement.
