Lobsterman found unresponsive in Plymouth Harbor

The man's condition remains unknown at this time.

A missing lobsterman was found unresponsive in Plymouth Harbor on Sunday afternoon.

Around 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard got a report of an unmanned lobster boat seen in Plymouth Harbor, a Coast Guard spokesperson told Boston.com. A helicopter was already in the vicinity, so the Coast Guard began an aerial search about 10 to 15 minutes after the report.

After the Coast Guard spotted the man by air, the Plymouth Harbormaster pulled the unresponsive man, an apparent lobsterman, from the water and onto a dock. The man was wearing fishing bibs, but had no lifejacket or flotation device, the spokesperson said.

The man was transported to an area hospital, and his condition remains unknown.

Following the discovery, the Coast Guard continued to search the area by helicopter to ensure no one else had gone overboard.
