Teen saved by friends from drowning in Amesbury

One person administered CPR for 30 seconds to the boy after the group pulled him from the water.

A 15-year-old boy was saved by his friends from drowning while the group was swimming in Amesbury today, according to the Amesbury Fire Department.

The department reported they responded to a call about a near-drowning at around 3:27 p.m. at 5 Christopher Way. They were told a teen was pulled from a swimming pool unconscious.

Firefighters found the boy was conscious and aware when they arrived. They were told one person administered CPR for 30 seconds to the boy after the group pulled him from the water.

The group was reportedly swimming in the pool when they noticed the one teen was face down in the water. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
