Officials close beaches in Nantucket after shark sighting
Officials closed south shore beaches on Nantucket after a shark was spotted swimming in the waters at Nobadeer Beach on Sunday afternoon, the harbor master said.
The shark’s fin was spotted in the water at Nobadeer and was headed west towards Madaket beach, the Nantucket Harbor Master said on Twitter just before 3 p.m. The beaches were scheduled to be closed for two hours.
