A boy was rescued from a potential drowning in a Hyde Park DCR pool on Wednesday, according to state police.
Police said they responded to a report of a 8-year-old boy struggling and possibly drowning at Olsen pool around 4 p.m.
They said upon arrival to the Turtle Pond Parkway location, the boy was out of the water and breathing. According to CBS Boston, a lifeguard pulled the boy from the pool.
The lifeguard then administered mouth-to-mouth CPR and is now being credited with saving his life, according to NBC Boston.
The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The pool was closed following the incident and will reopen Thursday at 11:15 a.m.
Wednesday marked the first of a three-day heat wave in the Boston area, with temperatures in the 90s.
