1 dead, 5 injured in Dorchester shooting

A woman was pronounced dead at the scene; five others were later found to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Violent Weekend:

One woman was shot to death, and five other people were injured in an incident on Irma Street in Boston early Monday morning.

Police responded to an activation of their ShotSpotter gunshot detection system at 27 Irma St. around 12:29 a.m. There, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound; she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release. Her identity has not been released publicly.

Authorities found two other victims with non-life-threatening gunshot wound injuries. Three others also brought themselves to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police found via investigation.
