After an 11-year-old Weymouth boy had his souvenir New Kids on the Block concert T-shirt pulled from his hands Friday night following the show at Fenway Park, Donnie Wahlberg stepped in.
The T-shirt had significant meaning for Connor Stuart, according to NBC10 Boston. Connor’s father passed away, and before he died, he used to play NKOTB’s music for his son.
In a video message to Connor obtained by the news station, Wahlberg apologizes for what happened.
“But I also want to let you know that me and the guys are putting a special care package together for you,” the Boston native said.
Connor’s shirt was stolen after the show, his sister, Caitlin McArthur, told the news station.
“He’s like, ‘Caitlin, this lady took my shirt,’ and started crying,” McArthur said, noting that the assailant took off.
McArthur posted about the incident on social media and received support from other fans of the band. Wahlberg also plans to meet Connor when he’s in Boston next, according to NBC10.
“It just kind of restores your faith that there are good people out there,” Sheri Stuart, Connor’s mom, told the news station.
