Braintree authorities are investigating after a motor scooter and a car collided Thursday evening, leaving the 27-year-old passenger of the scooter dead.
Police responded to a 911 call around 6:25 p.m. for a serious crash near 262 Forbes Road. On scene, officers found that a Toyota Camry and a Suzuki motor scooter had collided, and the bike was laying in the road.
The passenger on the scooter was pronounced dead on scene; she’s been identified as Akashia Sade Cyprian, 27, of Dorchester. The scooter operator was said to have serious leg injuries. The Toyota driver was “out of the car and distraught,” according to police. Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital. They were not being publicly identified as of Friday afternoon.
Braintree police, along with state police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, were continuing an investigation, authorities said. No charges are currently pending.
