A child was among those injured in a major crash that shut down both sides of I-93 in Wilmington on Thursday.
Massachusetts State Police reported the crash around 4:45 p.m. on Twitter, noting a vehicle crash with serious injuries of two passengers, an adult and a child. All lanes on both sides of the highway were shut down while police awaited a medical helicopter. The child was transported to a Boston hospital via the helicopter, while the adult, a female, was transported in an ambulance.

According to police, a vehicle traveling southbound hit the guard rail on the right and flipped over the guardrail onto the northbound side of the highway. The crash occurred near Exit 33.
By 5:10 p.m., all I-93 southbound lanes were open, and northbound lanes were open except for the left lane.
