Firefighters are managing brutal conditions at a seven-alarm fire in Revere that spread to three houses on Hyde Street on Tuesday, according to WBZ.
Temperatures in Revere remain in the high 90s, and the extreme smoke conditions have been documented by numerous reporters on the ground.
Trying to cover this fire in Revere but I actually can’t find my photographer. This is, wild. In 12 years of covering news/fires I’ve never been to a scene like this. It’s so hot. So hazy. It clears up briefly and then is so thick you can’t see an arms length ahead #WBZ pic.twitter.com/DrgqhxVZca

I know firefighters have seen it all but to a civilian this is astonishing! Would feel really scary to work in this. I’ve always respected our firefighters but man this is a crazy job. Thank God for those who run into this to help! #WBZ pic.twitter.com/kW9ScKuzBh

There have been no injuries reported, according to 7 News Boston, and though several firefighters have been treated for heat exhaustion, all residents were reported out of the building.
“It can’t get any worse, it’s getting hotter and we had a lot of guys going down,” Revere’s Assistant Fire Chief James Cullen told Boston 25 News reporter Drew Karedes. “A lot of people had to bail out of there. It’s intense heat and…the humidity is keeping the smoke down, so even down here at the command post everyone is enveloped in smoke.”
Civilians were assisting firefighters with cool towels and bottles of water.

I assumed this woman and her son were with a relief organization. Nope just Revere neighbors who flew over with cases and cases of water, and towels to soak and hand off to fire crews as they rotated out. She had lovely things to say about her city’s heroes. Hear tonight on #WBZ pic.twitter.com/7A8RAm4KOF
