Arrows have been flying in Salem, and causing damage to property, according to local police.
Authorities said Wednesday officers had “responded to several incidents of arrows having been shot at the exterior of dwellings” over the past week. Police say the arrows have been found in South and North Salem, and the incidents are thought to have happened at night.
“Although minor property damage has resulted from these incidents, no injuries have been reported,” police said.

Resident Janice Baldwin told WCVB that one of the arrows went through her bedroom window, while another got stuck in her home’s frame.
“I was in disbelief, I couldn’t believe what it was,” she said, noting that the arrows were “over a yard long and very sharp.”
Police are asking anyone with information to call the department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 978-745-9700 or use the department’s anonymous tip line at 978-619-5627. Anyone who needs to report a similar incident is asked to call 978-744-1212.
