A Woburn man allegedly accidentally shot his friend on Saturday, and is now facing charges.
Alec Augustino Braz, 22, is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and improper storage of a firearm, according to 7 News.
Police were called after the victim, a 19-year-old man from Woburn, showed up at a nearby hospital with a reported gunshot wound to his neck, an injury thought to be non-life-threatening, the news station reported.
The two men were reportedly inside a home when Braz accidentally fired the .40-caliber pistol, according to 7 News. He had just received his license to carry.
“The victim is very, very lucky, this is a serious injury he sustained,” Woburn Police Chief Robert Rufo said.
