Take it as a sign of the ongoing post-COVID reopening: A new concert series is set to take over the First Parish Church grounds in Dorchester every Friday this summer.
Named “Friday Evenings on the Lawn,” the free series, located at 10 Parish St., kicks off this Friday, June 11, with a performance by Muhammad Seven & The Spring, according to the church.
A picnic and kids’ activities will kick things off at 6 p.m., followed by the entertainment at 7 p.m., and a social hour starting at 8 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic meal, or pick up takeout from a nearby restaurant, and bring a blanket or lawn chair.
The series is set to run weekly through Sept. 10, the church said.
