A Dunkin’ employee in Woburn allegedly became the target of a flung beverage while attempting to help a customer who became angry on Sunday.
Police went to the Dunkin’ at 305 Mishawum Road around 1:34 p.m. for a reported assault, according to the police report obtained by Boston.com.
When an officer arrived, the employee told them that around 12:45 p.m., a woman entered the restaurant and bought a drink. While the employee was serving the woman, the patron reportedly “became hostile,” the report said.
“[The employee] stated that she began to scream at her in regards to the drink she ordered,” the report said. “[The employee] stated that the female began to yell obscenities and proceeded to grab the drink off the counter and throw it directly at [the employee], striking her in the head.”
The woman was not identified, and police told the employee to get a copy of the surveillance video footage, and contact police with more information.
The surveillance footage, obtained by Boston 25, shows the reportedly angry customer pick up the drink from the counter and throw it at the employee as a child appears to stand by.
Anyone with information can contact Woburn police at 781-933-1212.
