A vigil and rally for answers will be held Thursday afternoon in Hopkinton in honor of Mikayla Miller, a 16-year-old girl who was found dead last month.
Organizers of the event, spearheaded by Violence in Boston, say they intend to demand information from Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan about the circumstances of Mikayla’s death.
The vigil and rally is set to start at 4:30 p.m. on East Main Street in Hopkinton.

Mikayla’s body was discovered on the morning of April 18, The MetroWest Daily News reports.
A spokesperson for Ryan’s office said at the time that Mikayla’s death was not considered suspicious and that the case remained “open and active,” according to the newspaper.
But officials have made little additional information public in the two-plus weeks since then.
In a statement Sunday, Ryan’s office said its investigation into “the events of April 17-18, 2021, remains open.”
“The death of Mikayla Miller is a tragedy and an unimaginable loss for her family and the entire community,” the statement says. “We know that everyone mourning her is seeking answers.”
Prosecutors also said they were still waiting for a ruling on the cause and manner of Mikayla’s death from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
“We will continue gathering information and interviewing witnesses,” the statement says. “As this investigation unfolds, we will continue to be in contact with Mikayla’s family and their representatives.”
The Hopkinton Select Board was set to hold an emergency meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. to discuss the planned demonstration.
