MassDOT is celebrating Star Wars Day with some ‘unusual’ themed highway signs
"There is no try; wear a seatbelt you will."
Well, the force is certainly with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

To lighten up this dreary Tuesday, MassDOT is commemorating the unofficial holiday of Star Wars Day (“May the 4th be with you”) by rotating in some “unusual,” franchise-themed messages on its digital highway signs, from “Wookiees hate litter” to the Yoda-esque “There is no try; wear a seatbelt you will.”
“It’s always a good day for safety and litter messages but today is also a special day for Star Wars fans, so we thought we would mix it up a bit with some themed messages,” Jonathan Gulliver, the state’s highway administrator, tweeted Tuesday morning.
Gulliver added that the Star Wars messages will be alternated throughout Tuesday morning and afternoon.
And a few more. We will be alternating these on @MassDOT signs this morning and afternoon.#MayThe4thBeWithYou pic.twitter.com/EwLUIn1tNZ

Other messages include reminding any young Han Solos out on the road that a “kessel in 12 parsecs” — however terminologically nonsensical — is inappropriately fast for Massachusetts highways, especially on such a rainy day.
“Speed is the path to the dark side,” says another.
And while urging drivers to “trust the force,” energy fields alone won’t keep you safe in the event of a car crash, according to MassDOT.
“Wear a seatbelt,” the sign adds.

It’s unclear what the force can do about the creeping return of rush hour traffic.
