Woman struck in Acton grocery store parking lot dies, authorities say
Denise Stracqualursi, 56, of Tewksbury, was hit on Monday while walking with a shopping cart, officials said.
A pedestrian who was struck by a woman driving a vehicle in a Roche Bros. grocery store parking lot in Acton earlier this week has died, authorities announced Friday.
A preliminary investigation suggests Denise Stracqualursi, 56, of Tewksbury, was hit Monday afternoon as she was walking with a shopping cart, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
Action police and fire departments were dispatched around 1:09 p.m. to the store on Massachusetts Avenue, where they found Stracqualursi on the ground “alongside the travel lane in front of the store,” officials said in a statement.
First responders brought Stracqualursi to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. She succumbed to her injuries on Thursday.
According to the district attorney’s office, investigators believe the driver of the vehicle who struck Stracqualursi, a 76-year-old woman, turned left and hit Stracqualursi “as she was crossing the travel lane toward the parking area.”
“The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene,” authorities said.
No charges had been filed as of Friday morning.
