Woman found dead, man flown to hospital after incident at Cape Cod motel
Authorities believe the two people had previously dated.
A 30-year-old woman was found dead and a man was found seriously injured Monday evening at a Falmouth motel, according to authorities. Falmouth Police responded to the Cape Wind Waterfront Resort on 34 Maravista Ave. Extension around 6:40 p.m. Monday for a well-being check after officers received a call from friends of the resident, Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said in a statement. As officers arrived on scene, they said they saw a woman lying unconscious on the floor and a man lying on the bed with “obvious injuries to his neck and hand.”Authorities said the two people had previously dated.The woman, identified as Danielle Taylor of Mashpee, was taken to Falmouth Hospital where she later died, according to the district attorney.The second individual was reportedly med-flighted to a hospital in Rhode Island where he is under guard, but not currently facing charges, according to The Boston Globe. The D.A. said an autopsy to determine her cause of death was scheduled for Tuesday morning at the medical examiner’s office in Boston, and Falmouth police, alongside state detectives, are continuing to investigate the incident. No more information was immediately available.
