BOSTON (AP) — New drivers in Massachusetts are getting some help from the state Registry of Motor Vehicles: a new online portal that provides educational resources and safety videos to help prepare them for a learner’s permit and driver’s license.

The portal announced Friday also has information for parents and guardians of young drivers through the detailed step-by-step process of securing a Massachusetts license.

The Registry is also for the first time offering online practice learner’s permit exams.

“Learning to drive is a serious and thoughtful process, and we are pleased to provide a great deal of materials and resources which will help ensure that new drivers are safe, successful and ready for the road,” acting Secretary and CEO of Transportation Jamey Tesler said in a statement.
