Watch: New Hampshire teen who bonded with Biden over stuttering is featured in inauguration special
He also has a picture book coming out later this year.
Brayden Harrington, the New Hampshire teenager who bonded with Joe Biden over their mutual struggle with stuttering, was featured in a primetime special commemorating the inauguration Wednesday night.
During an early segment in Celebrating America, the 90-minute program hosted by Tom Hanks, the 13-year-old recited an excerpt from John F. Kennedy’s inaugural speech. That’s the one which concludes with the famous chiastic passage, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
Proud to have Brayden Harrington join us to recite President Kennedy’s powerful words. Like our new @POTUS, Brayden leads with the power of his speech.#Inauguration2021 pic.twitter.com/BWQ3RnZkMN

Basketball superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, labor leader Dolores Huerta, and Miami Marlins manager Kim Ng read from other notable inaugural speeches during the segment.
It’s far from the first time that Brayden has promoted the new president. Since they met in February during a primary stop to the Granite State, the teen praised Biden at the Democratic National Convention, led the Pledge of Allegiance as electors confirmed Biden’s victory, and appeared in plenty of campaign material.
Brayden will author his own picture book later this year, HarperCollins Children’s Books announced Tuesday. “Brayden Speaks Up” will be published August 10. He also has a book deal to write a children’s novel next year.
