Vermont woman struck, left injured on roadway in her hometown
The 65-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
WEST WARDSBORO, Vt. (AP) — A West Wardsboro woman was struck by a vehicle and left lying in the roadway in her hometown, police said Sunday.
Deborah Ayers, 65, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted Saturday evening to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Vermont State Police said.
First responders were alerted at about 8 p.m. Saturday about a semi-conscious female pedestrian lying in the roadway. The hit-and-run crash remained under under investigation on Sunday, officials said.
