Pedestrian struck, killed in Andrew Square

A pedestrian is dead after they were reportedly struck by a tractor-trailer in Boston’s Andrew Square Tuesday morning.Police say the victim, who has not been publicly identified, was hit around 10:47 a.m. near Dorchester Avenue and Southampton Street. The person sustained life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead, according to Boston police.Witnesses told WHDH that the victim was standing in the median adjacent to the Dunkin’ nearby when the truck struck them and dragged them.Photos from the scene show the area roped off by police tape.
