27-year-old mother dies in crash with her 2 young kids in the back seat

Her children were not injured, police said.

A young mother is dead following a motor vehicle crash late Monday night in Groveland that occurred with her two children in the back seat.Police were called to the area near 123 School St. around 10:50 p.m. for the crash and found two SUVs with damage to their front ends that were facing the wrong direction, Groveland authorities said in a press release. One of the SUVs was found to have been a parked car.Authorities pulled 27-year-old Alyson Spence of Rowley from the other vehicle. She was unconscious at the time and brought to a nearby hospital where she died, the release said.The two young children in the back seat of the vehicle were confirmed by authorities as Spence’s. They were not injured in the crash.Authorities believe the SUV Spence was driving was headed northbound on Route 97 when it crossed the center line and collided with the parked SUV along the southbound side, the release said.Police are continuing to investigate what happened.
