A series of “Trump 2020” markings were found painted in bright yellow within the travel lanes of Route 44 in Carver, Middleborough and Kingston Monday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The department confirmed that there were six locations with markings touting President Trump’s reelection bid, and MassDOT crews were sent to cover them up, a spokesperson said via email.

Crews intended to permanently remove the markings overnight so as to not cause traffic issues, according to the department.
Adding markings to a state road without a permit is against the law.
