State police searching for someone who may have jumped from Longfellow Bridge
State police received a call regarding the incident around 9 a.m.
Update: Cambridge Fire Department divers found the body of a 23-year-old man in the Charles River around 10:21 a.m., state police said in a news release. The body was found upriver from the Longfellow Bridge near the Cambridge side. State police detectives believe the death was a suicide.
State police are searching for someone who reportedly jumped off the Longfellow Bridge Tuesday morning.State police received a report that someone leapt from the bridge around 9 a.m. and into the Charles River below on the Cambridge side, according to David Procopio, a spokesperson for the department.A search is continuing, and includes the state police’s Marine Unit and Dive Team, and Cambridge firefighters.
