Boater found dead in Auburn reservoir identified
A search for the boater was suspended Thursday night "due to dark and dangerous conditions."
A boater was found dead after he reportedly fell from his boat Thursday night in Dark Brook Reservoir in Auburn.The man, who Auburn police have identified as Doug Flink, reportedly took his motor boat out into the reservoir after 5 p.m. Authorities began receiving 911 calls around 6 p.m. for a report of a boat that “was circling in the water” without anyone in it, according to a news release from the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.A search began Thursday evening, but “was called off due to dark and dangerous conditions,” the release said. Flink was found around 9:30 a.m. Friday in about 18 feet of water. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is working on the case.
