1 woman killed, 1 injured in double stabbing in Attleboro

Police had responded to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting “a commotion,” authorities said.

ATTLEBORO,Mass. (AP) — One woman was killed and another was injured in a double stabbing in Attleboro, authorities said.

Kimberly Duphily, 28, of Attleboro was found “bleeding profusely” in a city home at about 4 p.m. Friday, the Bristol district attorney’s office said in a statement.

She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The second victim was also taken to the hospital. No name or condition was released.

Police have a “person of interest” in custody, Attleboro Chief Kyle Heagney told The Sun Chronicle. No name or possible charges were disclosed.

Heagney said there is no public safety threat.
