The crash happened around 6:24 p.m. Tuesday.
Two pedestrians were injured, and one remains hospitalized, when they were reportedly struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene, Tuesday night in Natick. The crash happened around 6:24 p.m., according to the Middlesex district attorney’s office in a news release. A 51-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man were walking northbound on Washington Avenue near the Summer Street intersection when a pickup truck went over the sidewalk and hit them, authorities said. The truck then left the scene.
Both were brought to nearby trauma centers. The man has since been released. The woman, meanwhile, remains in the hospital; her injuries are said to be serious.
Police have since found a vehicle they believe was involved in the crash, according to the release. No suspects have been named, and no arrests made as of Wednesday evening.
A witness that spoke to WHDH on scene said she was “amazed” the woman was still alive.
“This is the worst one I have ever seen,” Karen Miscia, a nurse, told the news station.
Another witness told Boston 25 News that he’s seen vehicles speed through the area.
“It’s a cut through between Route 135 and Route 27,” Kevin Burgess, who lives nearby, said. “The cars fly up and down the street.”
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Natick police at 508-647-9500.
