Dorchester man dies after crashing jet-ski into sailboat in Boston Harbor

Police said the victim "crashed into a sailboat that was stationary and attached to a mooring."

A Dorchester man died after the jet-ski he was riding on crashed into a sailboat in Boston Harbor Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

Curtis Raper, 43, was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center, where he was brought by first responders who went to the crash scene in Boston Harbor, off Malibu Beach in Dorchester, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Officials said state police, Boston police, and environmental police responded to the crash around 4:30 p.m.

An investigation found that Raper was riding a jet-ski when “he crashed into a sailboat that was stationary and attached to a mooring,” state police said in a statement.

Raper was accompanied by three friends, and the four men were taking turns riding two jet-skis, according to police.
