Police: Shooting followed an apparent crash in Medford Sunday

The suspects remained at large.

Medford police were continuing to look for suspects in a shooting that happened Sunday.The incident started on Pine Ridge Road, which is near Lower Mystic Lake in West Medford, and authorities found two vehicles that appeared to be damaged — one appeared to have bullet holes — on nearby Shepherd Road, according toThe Boston Globe; shell casings were also found there. Authorities believe the shooting happened after a vehicle crash.Police reported an “active scene” on High Street near St. Raphael Parish at 4:29 p.m. and urged people to stay away from the area. The scene was cleared at 5:05 p.m.The suspects apparently took off after the incident, and no one had been taken into custody by Sunday night,NBC10 Boston reported.“I heard at least four gunshots,” Olivia Maduro, who lives near where the incident occurred, told the news station. “I ran inside thinking, I didn’t know where they’re coming from, just wanted to get away, get inside, took some shelter, and then I ran out to our front door to see a gray SUV speeding down the street, tires screeching, you know, smoke coming off the tires.”
