70-year-old man allegedly assaults town manager after Hull Town Meeting
He "was apparently upset over several issues discussed during Town Meeting," according to police.
A 70-year-old man allegedly shoved Hull’s town manager in the chest and pulled his mask off after the coastal community’s Town Meeting on Saturday.
The resident, who has not been publicly identified yet, “was apparently upset over several issues discussed during Town Meeting,” according to a police news release.
Police said they were going to issue the man a summons for assault and battery on a public employee and assault and battery on an elderly person.
Officers responded to a report of a “physical altercation” at the Hull High School football field around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, shortly after the meeting had ended there. At the scene, Hull Town Manager Philip Lemnios declined medical attention, police said.
