12-year-old girl run over while sunbathing in Raynham driveway

Police said a medical helicopter transported the girl to Boston Children's Hospital where she is expected to survive.

A 12-year-old girl was partially run over by a relative on Sunday afternoon while sunbathing in her driveway, leaving her with serious injuries, authorities said in a news release.Raynham police and firefighters said they responded to a single family home on Hall Street around 2:52 p.m. for the report of a child struck by a vehicle.Medics reportedly treated the girl on the scene before a helicopter brought her to

Boston Children’s Hospital where she is expected to survive. 

“A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was sunbathing in her driveway when a 41-year-old male relative pulled into the driveway, not realizing the child was there,” police said in the release.

The Raynham Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident and no further details have been released.
