CANTERBURY, N.H. (AP) — Search crews on Sunday recovered the bodies of a man and woman who drowned in the Merrimack River in Canterbury.
The New Hampshire State Police received a 911 call Saturday around 7:46 p.m. reporting people in the water who appeared to be struggling. Four people had been in the water near Pebble Beach when two started to struggle, authorities said. The other two tried to help but the pair went under water and did not resurface, police said.
Rescue efforts continued through the evening. The search resumed Sunday.
