Medford motorcycle crash leaves one dead, one injured
A 29-year-old Malden man was declared dead at the scene.
A 29-year-old Malden man died after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed in Medford Thursday night, leaving his passenger, a 31-year-old woman, injured, police say.
Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to the crash on Fellsway North around 9:20 p.m., officials said in a statement.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle being operated by, Enzo Vnicius … popped the front tire off the roadway,” authorities said. “Vnicius then lost control of the motorcycle and struck the right rear corner of a parked van, ejecting both he and his passenger.”
Vnicius struck a tree and was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, a Somerville woman who was not identified, was “thrown onto the sidewalk” and later brought to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, officials said.
