A Natick woman’s final phone call with her mother afflicted with the COVID-19 virus has now been viewed over 15 million times on TikTok.
The emotional moment between daughter Linda Onorato and mother Roberta Tately was recorded and uploaded by Linda’s teenage daughter Francesca, WHDH reports.
“I love you mom, so much. You’re the best mummy in the whole world, always the best momma,” Linda tells Tately in the video. “You have a good night okay? I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
Tately died only a few hours after the phone call. Francesca uploaded the video to TikTok with her mother’s permission.
“I wanted to film something to have like a memory forever,” Francesca told WHDH.
Onorato told WHDH that she didn’t want to stop talking to her mother, even though she couldn’t respond.
“I just knew she could hear me and I knew, I didn’t want to say goodbye because I just didn’t want to scare her,” Onorato said. “She was the best mother anyone would ever have and I miss her, I’m going to miss her.”
The family has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser for a funeral ceremony later this summer.
