One of three bicyclists struck in Ipswich Thursday dies

One of three bicyclists struck by a vehicle in Ipswich Thursday afternoon has died from his injuries.
George Norris, 58, died at Massachusetts General Hospital early Friday morning, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. He and one of the other cyclists, a 19-year-old man, were brought to the hospital via medical helicopter after they were struck by a Kia Soul near 197 Topsfield Road around 2:11 p.m.
The third cyclist, a 60-year-old woman, was brought to Beverly Hospital with injuries thought to be serious, but not life-threatening.
The 43-year-old Ipswich woman driving the Kia remained at the scene and was cooperating with police, authorities said. No citations or charges had been issued as of early Friday afternoon, according to the district attorney’s office.
