Charts: Tracking the number of daily coronavirus cases and deaths in Massachusetts

Total numbers since the start of the pandemic:

• Cases: 1,404,214
• Deaths: 20,782

A couple of notes on the charts above, which may take a few moments to load:

• Daily cases and deaths appear on the date the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported them.
• On June 1, 2020, the department began adding probable cases to the totals. Starting on Aug. 12, 2020, the state reverted to reporting just confirmed cases and deaths. The graphs show the retroactive daily counts and do not reflect probable cases.
• The individual charts for daily cases and daily deaths are not set to the same scale, but help illustrate overall trends since the start of the pandemic.
