Six people, including 2 children, displaced by Hyde Park fire
Authorities were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
A fire in Hyde Park Thursday night hospitalized one adult and displaced a total of six people, including two children, according to the Boston Fire Department.Firefighters were called to the scene at 42 Neponset Ave. around 7:30 p.m., and a second alarm was called due to “heavy fire” in the back of the home.

Authorities said the fire was knocked down as of 8:15 p.m., and it had reportedly spread to each of the 2 ½-story home’s floors.

Boston emergency responders took the injured adult to the hospital, and the Red Cross was helping the residents of the home. Damage caused by the fire is estimated at about $300,000, the department said. Officials are investigating the cause.
Icy, a tabby cat, was rescued from the home and brought to the MSPCA-Angell Animal Medical Center, a spokesperson for the organization said. Emergency staff at the animal hospital were treating her Friday and she was “showing signs of improvement.”
