MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A crash involving two fire trucks and a pickup truck Friday in New Hampshire’s largest city sent eight firefighters and one other person to the hospital.
Manchester Fire Department District Chief Mike Gamache said all of the firefighters have been treated and released after the crash which happened Friday afternoon near the intersection of Bridge and Maple Streets in Manchester. It was unclear the condition of the pickup truck driver who also was hospitalized.
Gamache said a ladder truck and pumper truck were headed to a house fire when the accident occurred. A traffic light pole was knocked over, and the crash led to the closure of several streets around the crash.
The fire trucks had “significant damage” from the accident, Gamache said.
