State Rep. David Nangle arrested on federal charges for allegedly misusing campaign funds

Nangle has served in the state Legislature since 1999.

State Rep. David Nanglewas arrested Monday morning by federal agents on “dozens” of charges, including that he allegedly misused campaign funds, authorities said.Nangle allegedly used the funds to pay for “personal expenses,” according to the Massachusetts U.S. attorney’s office. Nangle, a Democrat who represents the 17th Middlesex District, was taken into custody at his home in Lowell, FBI Boston said.Nangle was first elected to his House seat in 1999, according to the state Legislature’s website.
