Person injured after ‘making contact’ with Orange Line train at Downtown Crossing
T officials first reported the incident at 3:33 p.m. Friday.
A person on a train platform at Downtown Crossing suffered an ankle injury Friday afternoon after “making contact” with an Orange Line train in the station, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo clarified in an email. On Twitter, the MBTA had reported that a person had been “struck by a train” at the station.
The T first reported the incident at 3:33 p.m., calling it a “medical emergency,” and officials soon told passengers to expect 20-minute delays.
As of just before 4 p.m., MBTA officials reported on Twitter that the train had been taken out of service, and the line was still experiencing some “residual delays.”
