Police said a distracted driver caused the break on Sunday after crashing into a fire hydrant, which slanted out of the ground and began spurting water onto the streets.

The water tank is slowly being refilled, DPW Director Tim Kilhart said.
“You may have some water,” he said, “but it will be very limited and could have low water pressure.”
It will be at least three days before the boil water order is lifted, Kilhart said, and until then firefighters will be going door to door distributing drinking water to all affected residents.
Anyone with questions on the situation is asked to contact Kilhart at 978-456-4130.
Harvard police are still investigating the crash.
