2 teens injured in Bourne crash remain in critical condition, school says
Administrators said the brothers, aged 17 and 14, were in intensive care following surgery Tuesday afternoon.
The two teenagers who suffered life-threatening injuries when their pickup truck slid off a Bourne road and into a tree Tuesday morning remain in critical, but stable, condition.

Both boys, 17- and 14-year-old students at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, underwent surgery at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island, according to school officials. The school said the students were still in the intensive care unit in stable, but critical, condition on Tuesday afternoon.
“We continue to have positive thoughts for their full recovery,” the school said on Facebook.

School Superintendent Bob Dutch told NBC10 Boston the two teens are brothers and were on their way to school when the crash occurred. According to the station, he defended the decision not to cancel school Tuesday with the wintry mix in the forecast.
“Hindsight is 20/20, obviously, and I don’t know that I would have changed the decision given how the forecast ended up,” he said.
Bourne police responded to the reported crash on on MacArthur Boulevard/Route 28 North, near Barlows Landing Road, around 7:19 a.m. on Tuesday. At the scene, they found the Toyota Tacoma had slipped off the road with the two students inside and crashed against a tree.
“The Bourne Fire Department used mechanical means to free the two students,” police said
The crash remains under investigation but police said Tuesday the roads, though treated at the time, were icy when the truck went off the road.
