Cohasset Police searching for rightful owner of ’substantial’ amount of cash found Sunday

Cohasset police are hoping to return a “substantial sum of money” found outside of a business to its rightful owner.

The money was found Sunday on the ground outside of a business on Route 3A, according to police. A good Samaritan reportedly picked it up and took it directly to the police station.

“I just hope that the missing money doesn’t affect anybody’s Christmas,” Detective Harrison Schmidt told WBZ.

Police aren’t disclosing how much money was lost, which business it was found outside of, or what time it was found. The owner is asked to contact the Cohasset Police Department at 781-383-1212.
