Man dies, 2 arrested after Saturday morning shooting on Canal Street
Boston police responded to a call around 2 a.m.
A man has died after being shot on Canal Street early Saturday morning, according to Boston police.
Officers responded to a call around 2:04 a.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds near 101 Canal St. The victim was brought to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the name of the man.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene, according to a police report, but was stopped at the intersection of Canal Street and Causeway Street. During the traffic stop, police recovered a fire arm and arrested two suspects.
Bryan Rice, 22 of Boston, was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and attempted armed robbery. Anthony Baptista-Goncalves, 24, of Boston, was charged with accessory before and after the fact to commit murder and attempted robbery. Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
