Tow truck driver falls into flooded sinkhole in Bourne
Police said the driver wasn't injured.
A tow truck driver fell into a sinkhole early Friday in Bourne while trying to tow a car that hit a fire hydrant.
Police said the incident began around 2 a.m. when the car hit a hydrant on Williams Avenue, flooding the street.
Video shows the truck driver falling into the flooded sinkhole as he attempts to load the crashed car onto his flatbed. The water reaches all the way to his shoulders before he uses the car’s door to hoist himself back up.
Police said the sinkhole was caused by the flooding and the tow truck driver was not injured in the fall.
