Father in N.H. suspicious deaths died by suicide, officials say; cause of baby’s death still unknown
The two were found dead Sunday morning in their Hillsboro apartment.
An autopsy has indicated that 39-year-old Miles Deuse, who was found dead in his New Hampshire home with his 4-month-old daughter Makenzie on Sunday, died by suicide, officials said Tuesday.
Deuse died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to a release from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office. The cause of Makenzie’s death is still being investigated, though she was also autopsied Monday.
The two were found dead Sunday morning in their Hillsboro apartment. At the time, officials said there was no threat to the public but deemed the deaths suspicious.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and no further information is expected to be released until Makenzie’s autopsy is finalized.
Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to contact New Hampshire State Police Sgt. Stephen Sloper at 603-628-8477.
